The global content supply chain is in the midst of a seismic shift, driven by major changes in audience, formats, and the technology for production and distribution.
In response to these changes and valuable community feedback, we’re proud to announce a rebrand that better reflects our renewed focus on creating and securing global content and helps us address a wider community.
We will become The Global Creative and Security Community (www.GC-SC.org) over the next few months, ready for the Summit Los Angeles on December 9-10th 2025, hosted by Google at their amazing Playa Vista campus.
“With this re-brand, we are keeping our core value of Community, while recognising the significant shifts in our industry and the new creative and distribution challenges and opportunities of the global creator economy”, says Caroline Baines, Executive Director.
“This reset of our organisation has allowed us to get very focused on the values that our members have found so unique about CDSA, where we are more friends than colleagues. At the same time, we are making significant operational changes to be more efficient and transparent as a non-profit. Our Advisory Council will help us focus on the most pressing common issues and prioritise resources”, states Richard Atkinson, President.
“We will take a new project based approach to tackle those critical issues with time limited Workstreams that target deliverables for best practices. The Advisory Council can provide critical prioritisation, guidance, and oversight in collaboration with other industry associations such as TPN, Movielabs, SVTA. Those best practice outputs will become easier to reference and implement with the launch of pilots for role-specific accredited online education to reach all levels of our community”, comments Ben Schofield, Technology Director.
In-person events for strategy insights, education and networking are a core value of GC-SC, with local events in LA and London together with major industry events such as NAB and IBC.
Our annual December summit in LA will follow a new format: one day of Strategy discussions followed by a day of hands-on Workshops…where that focus on education and training should help more members at all levels of experience directly learn and apply tools and approaches across our three pillars: create, secure, global.
We will make best practice resources available in a Tech Blog to replace the weekly Newsletter. Behind the scenes, Lillie Galbreath is guiding Finance & Operations. Our intention is to expand our community into production and creative, legal and governance, helping join cyber and content security and track the latest trends in AI and personalisation.
We are excited about this transition to GC-SC and hope you will support us in this exciting endeavour and together we can continue to support our community and provide a place for people to help navigate the changes the M&E industry is going through.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to one of the team at info@GC-SC.org.
