During All-Energy Australia 2025, Anker SOLIX, well-known for balcony energy storage solutions, promoted the latest advancements of its SOLIX X1 energy storage system (ESS).

The product enables integration with virtual power plants (VPPs), ‘smart’ EV charging, and provides whole-home backup.

According to the company, this single-phase hybrid system is now capable of pairing 2 units in parallel to deliver up to 10 kW of power output and a storage capacity of up to 60 kWh. This capacity enhancement aligns with Australia’s ‘Cheaper Home Batteries Program’, which provides households and small businesses with discounts of around 30% on eligible home battery systems. Under this scheme, battery systems must have a usable capacity range of 5 kWh to 100 kWh; however, subsidies apply only to the first 50 kWh. This, in turn, makes the storage system suitable for large households and maximizes the harvesting of renewable energy.

The showcased product also supports integration with VPP aggregators, such as Amber Electric and Origin Energy. This feature meets both ends: reducing domestic electricity expense and generating revenue by feeding stored solar energy back to the grid during high prices ($/kWh) and participating in ancillary grid services, respectively.

Complementing these updates, Anker SOLIX unveiled the Power Dock Pro, a ‘smart’ energy gateway designed for whole-home backup. This box, consisting of built-in meters, passes through the connected diesel generator (DG) set to the consumer’s load, bypassing the solar & storage system, typically during grid outages or loadshedding. This provides backup to the whole home, including critical and normal loads of the consumer. The company claims that its ‘optimized’ wiring system reduces its installation time by up to 30% compared to standard alternatives.

Another launch was the SOLIX V1 Smart EV Charger that directly pairs with the X1 hybrid system. It synchronizes solar generation, battery storage, and EV charging through a single platform.

Anker SOLIX also presented the F3000 portable power station and EverFrost 2 portable refrigerator, designed for off-grid and outdoor applications.

The SOLIX X1 hybrid ESS has been commercially available since April 2025, while the Power Dock Pro is scheduled for release in Q1 2026.
