Looking forward to giving the webinar hosted by ThinkOnward tommorow at 5pm UK time (3rd Nov 2025). I’ll cover some background of Language Models, Human-AI teaming, open-source Large Language Model (LLM) based Applications/Agents, and introduce a model for AI Literacy in the Geosciences. This model combines geoscience core competencies, data and technical awareness, critical thinking and ethics.

The aim of the webinar is to raise awareness of what we can use LLMs for (not just asking questions and coding), and suggest how we can steer a pragmatic course to derive benefits in our discipline, between the AI hype on one side and overt negativity on the other.
