Denmark-based renewable energy company European Energy has signed up global technology group Apple as the offtaker for its 108 MW DC Lancaster Solar Park in Australia.
Located in Victoria, the project is currently under construction and expected to become operational in 2026. Under the power purchase agreement (PPA) signed, Apple will support the project feed electricity into the National Electricity Market (NEM).
For Apple, this deal is part of its strategy to bring over 1 million MWh of new renewable electricity online annually in Australia before 2030.
For European Energy, this transaction in one of its priority markets, advances its push to sign long-term agreements with large energy users.
“There is strong demand for clean energy, and partnerships like this help bring new capacity online. The focus is on projects that integrate effectively with the Australian energy system and provide long-term value for the regions where they are located,” said Australia’s Country Manager Catriona McLeod.
