"The success of another edition of The smarter E South America demonstrates its importance for all aspects of the renewable energy industry. By offering a comprehensive program encompassing business, knowledge, and technology, the event has become a strategic asset for professionals and companies committed to the energy transition. This is evident in the expansion of the trade show floor space, with ees South America, for example, expanding its footprint by almost 40%", says Florian Wessendorf, Executive Director of Solar Promotion International, the international organizer of the event, together with Freiburg Management und Marketing International and Aranda Eventos & Congressos. The Electrotec+EM-Power and Power2Drive South America fairs also saw booth space increases of 13% and 5%, respectively. Aiming to meet market growth and demand in the South and Northeast regions, the organizers are also holding the Intersolar Summit Brasil Sul this year in Porto Alegre, from October 28th to 29th, and the Intersolar Brasil Nordeste in Fortaleza, from April 28th to 29th, 2026, both focusing on solar energy.

ABSOLAR's CEO, Rodrigo Sauaia, emphasizes that the photovoltaic sector's evolution has been driven by a series of factors, such as the creation of a solid legal and regulatory framework, public and fiscal policies aligned with technology and societal demand, greater access to credit for project financing, and advances in legal stability, among others. "These achievements benefited from ABSOLAR's solid contribution to governments and industry players and allowed this emerging source to compete equally with established sources," he comments.

"Photovoltaic solar energy accounted for 81% of all renewable energy capacity added globally in 2024. In Brazil, the sector has created more than 1.8 million green jobs since 2012, and over R$270 billion has been invested in the country during this period," he notes. According to Sauaia, the expansion of data centers, artificial intelligence, electromobility, green hydrogen, and, especially, energy storage, should further expand the role of solar energy in the energy transition and decarbonization of economic activities.

The corridors of Expo Center Norte were bustling with activity throughout the three days, with exhibitors showcasing and demonstrating the latest technologies geared toward the new energy and mobility landscape, integrating solutions for electricity, heat, and transportation. Felipe Leme, technical manager at Jinko Solar, emphasized the importance of The smarter E South America for the company's business. "Intersolar is the leading photovoltaic energy event in Latin America, a special opportunity to showcase our technology, showcase new products, and highlight the advantages of our company. It's an opportunity to connect not only with our current partners, such as developers and distributors, but also with integrators, to share a little more technical knowledge about the modules and batteries we've been showcasing here."

"Participating in Intersolar South America elevates our brand. This year, the booth was packed the entire time. Visitors are very engaged and more interested in the topic, especially energy storage, which is our focus. We even displayed some real-life installed products at the booth so people can see them up close," said Giulia Di Sipio, marketing manager for the Americas at Fox ESS.

In the view of Markus Vlasits, chairman of the ABSAE Advisory Board and chairman of the ees South America Congress committee, the market and, consequently, the event are going through a period of maturation, both on the part of the participants and regarding the topics under discussion. "We've been advocating for a regulatory framework and public policies for years. And we see that, little by little, the government is making progress. We're more or less on the eve of the regulatory framework's launch. We know something has to happen. At the fair, we have an increasing number of suppliers and more interested customers. In my view, this is the best news this event brings us," he states.

In the area dedicated to ees South America, HiTHIUM was pleased with its debut at The smarter E South America, according to Deyse Liu, the company's sales manager specializing in marketing. "The Latin American market is very important to our company. We're receiving many visitors interested in our products. We should be back at the event next year."

Rafael Cunha, consultant for the Power2Drive South America conference and COO of Move, emphasized the robustness of the second edition of the fair and conference focused on electromobility, a rapidly expanding sector in Brazil, which already boasts over 14,000 charging stations. "Electric mobility is undoubtedly one of the most transformative topics of our time. In Brazil, we are still facing a growing market that demands caution, planning, and, above all, quality information. In this context, the event plays a fundamental role by bringing together knowledge, international best practices, and the necessary discussions to enable us to grow in a healthy and sustainable manner," stated Cunha. "Throughout the fair's history, we have seen an increase in the number of solar energy companies and many other charging solutions, in addition to the exhibition of electric cars. This generates and arouses a lot of curiosity among people. Move will definitely be back at The smarter E South America next year."

"Participating in Power2Drive has been a great experience. We're meeting many of our customers, closing good deals, and forming strong partnerships. This is our first year with our own booth, and we've had a lot of activity over the three days, with a lot of demand and sales. Since last year's edition, we had high expectations, because even with a very small booth, we had many contacts and leads, and we still work with and sell to those leads from last year," highlighted Lucas Borquezan, marketing manager at Riseon. "Expectations were truly exceeded this year. We were able to achieve much more than we imagined, both in terms of contacts, leads, and sales. We believe we'll most likely be here next year to continue expanding our booth and bring new and exciting products, so the electromobility market can continue to advance," concluded Borquezan.

João Cunha, consultant for the Eletrotec+EM-Power South America conference, highlighted the integration of the opening of the parallel conferences and also the increased number of paper submissions. "The quality of the material was excellent. This is essential for the training of the participants."

Luciano Camargo, commercial manager of Medium Voltage, highlighted the qualifications of the participants at The smarter E South America. "We were at the fair to present our infrastructure solutions and establish partnerships with EPC contractors, installers, and power plant investors, and most of the attendees understood the product and its needs, demonstrating a high level of technical expertise."

The 2026 edition of The smarter E South America will take place from August 25–27 at Expo Center Norte.
