During the International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition and Conference Malaysia (IGEM 2025), well-known heterojunction (HJT) manufacturer Huasun Energy promoted its range of PV modules.  

The company emphasizes reliability, efficiency, and adaptability to diverse environmental stressors as the key features of its products.  

The Himalaya series V-ocean marine module was one of the key highlights of the company’s showcase. The company promotes this module as suitable for applications in Malaysia’s offshore and coastal regions. This module, consisting of 132 G12 half-cut cells, is engineered to withstand a few common environmental stressors in coastal areas, such as ‘high’ humidity, ‘strong’ wind loads. The company adds that the module is resilient to salt-accumulation-induced degradation and ‘significant’ temperature variations in coastal installations, validated by Bureau Veritas and China’s National Photovoltaic Quality Inspection Center (CPVT). 

Apart from offshore or floating PV, Huasun also displayed modules for Malaysia’s hot and humid tropical climate from its Himalaya series. The company states that the module has undergone 6 extended reliability tests ,each for a duration exceeding IEC standards, by Kiwa PVEL. These modules exhibit less than 1.53% loss of rated power in thermal cycling testing, conducted in a cyclic temperature variation of -40°C to 85°C for up to 600 hours (TC600). Besides, the modules also exhibited a degradation of less than 0.05% in a Light and Elevated Temperature-Induced Degradation (LETID) test at 75°C for up to 486 hours. The modules are said to have undergone various other tests, including Damp Heat (DH), Potential Induced Degradation (PID), Mechanical Stress Sequence (MSS), and Performance Assessment by a solar simulation software (PAN file), to validate their resilience to hot and humid environmental stressors.  

Generation 

According to Huasun, energy yield is also a ‘defining characteristic’ of its HJT modules. The Himalaya G12-132 HJT module delivers a specific yield or energy generation per watt of up to 291.68 kWh/kW, compared to its back-contact (BC) peers’ up to 283.26 kWh/kW over an unspecified duration during an outdoor empirical test in Hainan, China. The company added that its HJT modules were found to deliver a higher daily energy yield of up to 14.18% during the test. These high performances are primarily attributed to the module’s temperature coefficient of -0.24%/°C.  

Huasun claims that these field data reinforce the suitability of its HJT modules for high ambient temperatures in tropical markets like Malaysia. 

During the event, the company reaffirmed the mass production of its 730 W+ commercially available HJT modules.
