Many of us are guilty of having cluttered homes or falling behind on cleaning tasks, and sometimes it feels good to know we’re not alone. The team at Oxi Fresh shows us where the messy homeowners will be among friends with a map ranking each American state by their level of cleanliness. You can see the details of the comprehensive survey they used to grant residents of each state a cleanliness score. The states with the lowest scores were:
1.New Hampshire
2. North Carolina
3. Maryland
4. Maine
5. Oregon
6. Oklahoma
7. Hawaii
8. North Dakota
9. Washington
10. Utah
Some of the scoring criteria are subjective. Residents were asked to rate their cleanliness, clutter levels, and how they’d feel about unexpected guests seeing the state of their home. Perhaps residents in these states are more humble or easily embarrassed, which may be driving down their overall scores.
