Meet Microsoft 365 Premium, our most powerful subscription for individuals
Our customers told us they wanted the convenience of our best AI and productivity tools in a single subscription. So today, we’re introducing Microsoft 365 Premium, our most powerful subscription for individuals. Microsoft 365 Premium combines everything in our Microsoft 365 Family and Copilot Pro subscriptions—and then some—for just $19.99 per month, bringing together the productivity apps you know and trust with our most advanced AI features and our highest usage limits available today. This new subscription was built specifically for any individual looking to tackle the most demanding productivity tasks, from conducting deep research into a new business idea to nailing an important presentation at work. Here’s what’s included in Microsoft 365 Premium:
- Our trusted Word, Excel2, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Outlook desktop apps with Copilot built in1
- Access to Researcher and Analyst—powerful reasoning agents announced for our commercial customers earlier this year (available in the Microsoft 365 Copilot desktop app today and coming soon to the Word, PowerPoint, and Excel apps)1
- Early access to innovative features like Office Agent and Agent Mode that transform a single prompt into expert-quality documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
- Our highest usage limits for select features like 4o image generation and Voice (coming soon) in the Microsoft 365 Copilot, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Outlook apps
- Our highest usage limits for select features like 4o image generation, Podcasts, Deep Research, Vision, and Actions in the Copilot app1, 3
- Access to our new Photos Agent in the Microsoft 365 Copilot app (coming soon)
- 1 TB of secure cloud storage per person
- Microsoft Defender advanced security
- And much more
With these changes, we’re simplifying our subscription lineup. With Microsoft 365 Premium, new customers can start fresh, and existing Microsoft 365 Personal and Family subscribers can easily upgrade. As part of this simplification, we’ll no longer sell Copilot Pro—Copilot Pro subscribers can switch to Microsoft 365 Premium for more value. Customers with both Microsoft 365 Personal or Family and Copilot Pro can switch to Microsoft 365 Premium and get everything they had before while enjoying meaningful savings.
Get even more Copilot in Microsoft 365 Personal and Family
We’re also bringing higher usage limits than our free tier for select Copilot features to millions of Microsoft 365 Personal and Family subscribers.1 These include:

These changes are starting to roll out today for our Microsoft 365 Personal and Family subscribers.
Get started with Copilot Chat in the Microsoft 365 apps
In September, we brought a new Copilot Chat experience in our Microsoft 365 apps to our commercial customers. Today, we’re officially announcing that experience is available for our individual subscribers, creating a unified chat experience across the apps millions of people use every day. This update makes Copilot your true personal AI assistant for getting things done. Whether you’re drafting a document, analyzing a spreadsheet, or catching up on email, Copilot is right there in the flow of your work ready to answer questions, create content, spark ideas, and automate tasks.
Bring Copilot to work in a secure way
Many people are already bringing their own AI to work. In fact, our latest Work Trend Index found that 82% of employees are using unsanctioned AI tools on the job.4 With Microsoft 365 Premium, we’re giving them a secure way to do it. With Microsoft 365 Copilot in Microsoft 365 Personal, Family, and Premium, you get the AI advantage that can give your career an edge while your organization benefits from Enterprise Data Protection in Copilot. This includes secure infrastructure, multiple compliance certifications, respect for your organization’s file permissions, protection against harmful content and prompt injections, Customer Copyright Commitment, no training of foundation models on your data, and more.5
To use select Microsoft 365 Copilot features with your Word, Excel, or PowerPoint documents at work, simply open the file saved in your organization’s OneDrive or SharePoint. You may have to first sign in with the Microsoft account associated with your Microsoft 365 Personal, Family, or Premium subscription, which you can do by clicking on the account switcher in the top right of your app and selecting “Add an account.” This capability works with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Outlook on Windows PC, Mac, iPad, and more. And because every organization is different, administrators will also have the option to enable or disable this functionality as needed.

4 The findings published in this blog are based on a subset of data from Microsoft’s 2025 Work Trend Index research. These findings focus specifically on workers who use generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools at work provided by their organization and are drawn from the responses of 26,269 workers across 31 countries. The full 2025 Work Trend Index is based on research conducted by Edelman Data x Intelligence, which surveyed 31,000 full-time employed or self-employed knowledge workers across 31 markets between February 6 and March 24, 2025. The 20-minute online survey was conducted in English or translated local languages, with 1,000 full-time workers surveyed per market. In the U.S., an additional sample of 4,500 respondents was collected across nine metro areas. In addition to the survey, Microsoft conducted qualitative interviews with scientists, academics, customers, business leaders, and startup founders across a range of industries and company sizes. These conversations helped shape the broader findings in both the report and this blog.
