# Practical Use-Case
I think, the practical and actual definitions is within Dagster’s data products, used by the Data Asset and Software-Defined Asset.
Also, Data Mesh talks about “data as a product”. It applies more product thinking, whereas the “Data Product” essentially is a dashboard, report, and table in a Data Warehouse or a Machine Learning model. Sometimes Data Products are also called Data Assets.
Dagster also works declaratively to produce Data Asset with Software-Defined Asset.
