Introducing Townie AI
Steve Krouseon
Last month, we launched a major overhaul of Townie, our AI assistant that helps you build apps. Val Town was already the best website to turn an idea into a deployed app. Townie can help you ship much faster.
In the following video, I use Townie to make an RSVP page – with a backend and database – in just a few prompts and a couple minutes.
But the best way to see what Townie is like is to just go play with it.

Your creativity never ceases to amaze us. Here are some of the cool things built with Townie so far.
In under a minute and a single prompt, Batuhan built a tool to generate images with Fal AI.
Charmaine built a site that tracks mentions of her company’s product on Twitter.
With a handful of prompts, Peter made a neat tool to get Claude to summarize a blog post just by pasting a link.

Marcus was able to build a mood-tracking app in minutes.

Johnnie built a Slack bot for his teahttps://blog.val.townhttps://blog.val.town/_astro/slack-bots.BFShwGao_20avoX.webpestroytoday/status/1834408549549494302" target="_blank">
Townie can make almost anything you can imagine. Here’s more inspiration from the community to get you started:
We have some helpful prompting tips in our docs.
You can also read more about how we built Townie and Simon Willison’s blog post about Townie’s prompt.
If you get stuck, please reach out in our Discord, or email me directly (steve@val.town), and include a link to your val. We’re here to help!
Have an idea for a site, game, or app for yourself, friends, family or work?
Townie is free and available now in public beta. We can’t wait to see what you build.
