According to the jury, the product showcases 3 main features: LONGi’s proprietary ‘TaiRay’ wafer, back contact (BC) cells with a zero busbar (ZBB) configuration, and LONGi’s bipolar hybrid passivation technique. 

Officially launched in 2024, LONGi says the TaiRay wafer is a result of technological advancements in the ingot growing process. To make this wafer, LONGi developed the Trailblazing Recharge Czochralski (TRCZ) method of ingot pulling, which is based on the traditional Czochralski (CZ) method. LONGi claims TRCZ addresses non-uniformity of resistivity and carrier lifetime along the length of the ingot (see Wafers For High-Efficiency Solar Cells). 

With the ZBB technique, only the fingers are printed on the cell during metallization, entirely eliminating busbars. This process not only reduces silover consumption but also reduces shading losses. LONGi claims that its Hi-Mo X10 features welding of a flat ribbon (or tape, as LONGi calls it) without any twists and turns, minimizing microcracks inside the cells. 

LONGi’s bipolar hybrid passivation is a technique where both p- and n-type regions employ passivated contacts. LONGi highlights that these contacts are optimized for enhanced carrier collection (see Back Contact Cells Demand Stricter Wafer Specs & Evolving Rear-Side Architectures). 

LONGi showcased several variants of Hi-MO X10 (power ranging from 535-670 W) at Intersolar Europe 2025. Available in glass-glass and glass-white backsheet configurations, the company promotes the modules for various applications. According to the product datasheet, the glass-glass module with 670 W features 144 half-cut bifacial BC cells, with module dimensions of 2,382 × 1,134 × 30 mm, and a maximum efficiency of 24.8%. The module features a bifaciality of 70 ± 5%. Similar to other technologies, the product has a degradation of 1% in the first year. LONGi claims 88.85% power retention at the end of 30 years, which is similar to other tier 1 BC players. LONGi promotes this module for commercial and industrial (C&I) and high-temperature scenario applications.
