This was a real toughie. Even after I figured out what we were looking for and landed the spangram, I still struggled to find words – a very unusual sensation playing Strands.
Fortunately, non-game words were easier – so I built up enough to grab a hint and EMPATHY got me going. From here I struggled, seeing VALUES and HONESTY but then hitting another wall.
After some focus I managed to get DISCIPLINE – a learning moment as it's a word I struggle to spell – followed by LOYALTY and RESPECT. Phew!

What is NYT Strands?
Strands is the NYT's not-so-new-any-more word game, following Wordle and Connections. It's now a fully fledged member of the NYT's games stable that has been running for a year and which can be played on the NYT Games site on desktop or mobile.
