Google周一（9/22）宣布，旗下AI聊天機器人Gemini即將進駐電視平臺Google TV，讓使用者直接與Gemini對話，以尋找適合的電影，回顧上一季的影集，或是結合YouTube影片來提供答案，首款搭載Gemini for TV的電視機為TCL QM9K系列。
Google TV是Google於2010年推出的電視作業系統，它在2017年整合了Google Assistant數位助理功能，使用者只要透過搖控器上的麥克風或是「Hey Google」喚醒該功能，可用來搜尋及播放電視上的內容，也能操控智慧家電，或是詢問天氣及新聞等。不過，在更強大的、基於AI的Gemini現身後，Google已經宣布Gemini將在今年全面取代Google Assistant，惟目前的Google TV還是讓Google Assistant與Gemini並存。
與使用Google Assistant的方式一樣，在內建Gemini for TV的Google TV上，使用者只要說出「Ok Google」或按下遙控器上的麥克風按鈕，就能啟用Gemini。但它能處理更複雜的問題，例如使用者可以詢問它「有哪些電影類似《不可能的任務》但更有趣？」或「你能幫我向小二的孩子解釋一下太陽系嗎？」還是「《古戰場傳奇》的最後一季發生了什麼事？」它會在螢幕上秀出答案，或是提供相關的YouTube影片供使用者播放。
不過，初期Gemini for TV僅支援TCL QM9K系列的電視機，以及英文與法文。Google打算在今年將它部署至Google TV Streamer、Walmart onn. 4K Pro串流裝置、2025 Hisense U7/U8/UX機種，以及2025 TCL QM7K/QM8K/X11K機種。
TCL QM9K是中國電視機製造商TCL今年9月推出的旗艦機種，提供65吋、75吋、85吋及98吋等4種尺吋，售價自3,000美元到6,000美元不等。至於相對低階的TCL QM7K大概只要700美元。
