At the recent RE+ 2025, Hoymiles unveiled its latest products, designed to provide whole-home backup in either a hybrid or off-grid configuration. The company is well known for its microinverters and energy storage solutions (ESS). 

Hybrid Whole-Home Backup 

Hoymiles highlighted its latest hybrid inverter, HYS-(3.8–11.5) LV-USG1, from the HYS series designed for whole-home backup applications. It combines with the company’s LB series battery, LB-10D-USG2, and a metering electrical panel, called HMID. According to the company, this comprehensive hybrid solution offers whole-home backup and maximizes self-consumption from PV. This hybrid inverter offers a flexible AC output ranging from 3.8 kW to 11.5 kW, based on consumer need. It has a storage capacity of up to 10.2 kWh, which can be expanded to a maximum of 102.4 kWh by connecting 12 units in parallel, and an adjustable backup duration of 2.5 to 26 hours. 

The company also showcased another hybrid inverter model from the HYS series, HIS-(15–20)L-USG3, designed for whole-home backup for split-phase residential consumers. Equipped with up to 4 MPPT channels, which can be paired with 200% oversized (DC/AC) PV arrays, the inverter offers a maximum power output of 20 kW. Configurable in either on-grid or off-grid modes, it can upscale its capacity to up to 200 kW by connecting 10 units in parallel, in line with the consumer’s future demands. Unlike the former product, it is compatible with the DG set and switches to AC bypass mode to pass through a load of up to 200 A during a grid outage or failure to support whole-home backup, states the company. 

Off-Grid Solutions 

During the show, the company debuted its off-grid storage solution, OIS-3L-USG3. Featuring MPPT channels with a carrying capacity of up to 18 A, and coupled with battery banks, this product provides a pure sine wave output with up to 97.5% conversion efficiency. It ensures proper operations of household appliances, states the company. According to the increasing consumer demands, this system can be scaled up to 6 parallel units. However, the company didn’t quantify the capacities of the product. This off-grid solution, designed for outdoor applications in remote areas, is housed in an IP-66 rated enclosure to withstand extreme environmental stresses.  

This off-grid solution is not yet commercially available in the US, nor are the details for other showcases publicly available.
