Olivia Nuzzi is joining Vanity Fair after leaving New York magazine last year amid controversy.Nuzzi was placed on leave in the fall of 2024, following a relationship with Robert F. The former star Washington correspondent at New York magazine has found a new home — with Vanity Fair.

On Thursday, Olivia Nuzzi appeared on Vanity Fair's "staff announcement" as a new hire, alongside 12 other names of those who formerly worked for the likes of Vogue, Washington Post, and Wall Street Journal.

In 2024, following a third-party investigation into her reporting, New York magazine, owned by Vox Media, placed Nuzzi on leave in September after editors learned she had a relationship with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. during his 2024 presidential run.

While the review by law firm Davis Wright Tremaine found "no inaccuracies nor evidence of bias" in her work, the New York magazine said the relationship violated the magazine's conflict-of-interest standards. The parting was described as mutual.

"The range of talent and expertise in this list is expansive," Vanity Fair's global editorial director Mark Guiducci said in an online statement. "But what our new colleagues have in common is a love for Vanity Fair, an appreciation for its history, and an excitement for its future. Each of them will help lead us there."

Nuzzi, Vanity Fair, and New York magazine did not immediately respond to a request for comments.
