It's the most wonderful time of the year. No, it's not the holidays. It's red carpet season.
September marks the unofficial start to the season, when stars start pulling out their best looks for film festivals and awards shows.
The Emmys, which celebrate excellence in television, are an early chance for stars to get on fashion fans' radars as a red carpet icon of the season. Some stand out at the Emmys with dramatic gowns, while others turn heads by taking fashion risks with brightly colored suits or daring slits.
The 77th annual Emmys, held on Sunday at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, didn't disappoint. Celebrities like Lisa and Sam Nivola made fashion statements in ball gowns and playful suits.
