It's Primetime's prom night

The 77th annual Primetime Emmy Awards officially kick off awards season this Sunday, and as a television enthusiast, I'm kinda excited.
Comedian Nate Bargatze, who's been called the "nicest man in stand-up," will host the awards, airing live on CBS from Los Angeles' Peacock Theater.
Still, a few golden trophies have already been handed out. Beyoncé is halfway to EGOT status thanks to earning her first Emmy for her costume design on Netflix's Christmas Day special, "Beyoncé Bowl." Bryan Cranston, my favorite going in, scored a win for his comedic turn as a Hollywood studio boss in "The Studio," while Stephen Colbert won an Emmy despite his late-night show's recent cancellation.
If you're wondering who else might take home an Emmy on Sunday night, Business Insider's entertainment team shared their predictions.
Callie Ahlgrim, Pop Culture Senior Writer: "I have to hitch my wagon to Tramell Tillman for outstanding supporting actor in a drama series. Tillman's portrayal of Seth Milchick on 'Severance' strikes a masterful balance between sinister and sympathetic — and the surreal world of 'Severance' would not feel nearly so human without him."
Jason Guerrasio, Entertainment Correspondent: "The outstanding lead actor in a comedy series category is stacked, but I'm rooting for Seth Rogen thanks to his performance as studio head Matt Remick in 'The Studio.' After crafting a character that exudes sympathy as well as self-centered egotism (and lots of pratfalls), Rogen's comedic talents are on full display here."
Samantha Rollins, Deputy Editor of Entertainment and Real Estate: "For outstanding supporting actress in a drama series, to me, there is one nominee who stands a cut above the rest. Aimee Lou Wood's wide-eyed portrayal of the optimistic yet doomed Chelsea in 'The White Lotus' was the heart of the show's uneven (albeit entertaining) third season. While other actors may have gotten more meme mileage out of chewing the scenery (I still love you, Parker Posey), Wood's warm, nuanced portrayal of Chelsea's naiveté kept the show from careening into caricature. Call me a Chelsea, but it feels good to root for something so pure."

Exercise fads come and go, but the treadmill is still as popular as ever. Data from the Sports & Fitness Industry Association shows 56.8 million Americans used a treadmill in 2024, which is a 0% change from 2019.
Treadmills offer something for everyone, from beginners just walking to advanced athletes doing interval training and playing with elevation. Sure, they're not as fun as a Zumba or spin class, but that could be part of its lasting appeal.

Little ink, big status

Tiny tattoos are all the rage right now. Instead of large, colorful, or intricate designs, wearers are opting for fine, delicate lines that aren't as costly or time-intensive.
That doesn't mean they're cheap, though. Tiny tattoos in New York City typically start at $50 and can rise into the hundreds. Subtle and personal, they signal that the wearer has enough disposable income to spend on some permanent ink.
They also reflect changing attitudes toward tattoos.
Have you met a performative male?

TikTok's new favorite punchline is the performative male, a man who signals his support of women to appeal to them. Dress-up competitions have sprung up on college campuses and city parks around the globe.
According to the trend, performative males wear baggy jeans, drink matcha around the clock, tote a Labubu, and read feminist literature in public.
One night at a buzzy Copenhagen hotel

Manon Les Suites offers a break from the hustle and bustle of the Scandinavian city. Its Bali-inspired aesthetic includes lush greenery, a rooftop restaurant, sustainably designed spaces, and 87 suites.
The Guldsmeden hotel is best known for its Instagrammable Junglefish pool, and for requiring guests to be at least 15 years old. BI's Samantha Grindell Pettyjohn said it was one of her best travel experiences to date.
And the child-free environment wasn't the best part.
