China issues 2025-2026 power equipment plan to promote renewable energy development
China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR), and the National Energy Administration (NEA) jointly released the ‘Power Equipment Industry Stable Growth Plan (2025-2026)’, emphasizing high-quality development of renewable energy equipment.
Key measures include improving the quality of equipment supply, implementing innovative initiatives for advanced energy storage, and optimizing the deployment of wind, solar PV, and distributed energy sources. Smart microgrid construction and grid-side energy storage applications will enhance the grid’s capacity to accommodate, allocate, and regulate clean energy.
The plan also encourages companies to expand international markets, deepen full-industry-chain cooperation in wind, solar PV, and energy storage, and promote green and intelligent transformation alongside equipment recycling.
MIIT and SAMR recently also released the ‘2025-2026 Action Plan for Stabilizing Growth in the Electronic Information Manufacturing Industry’, with multiple references to the solar industry (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
