GEPIC to develop 1 GW RE project
Energy project developer Gansu Electric Power Investment Group (GEPIC) is planning to invest RMB 40.887 billion ($5.70 billion) through its subsidiary in a 1 GW integrated solar and wind power project in Wuwei City, Gansu Province. Located in Nanhu Town, Minqin County of Wuwei City, the project will include 500 MW each of solar PV and wind power. Once operational, the solar project is expected to generate an average of 10,145.055 GWh annually, while the wind power portion is estimated to produce 10,992.1 GWh per year. The project has already received regulatory approval and a feasibility assessment, with a planned construction period of 24 months following commencement.
GEPIC is also part of the Qingyang ‘East-to-West Computing’ Industrial Park Green Power Aggregation Pilot Project in Gansu Province, which recently started construction (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
