€85 million for solar in Latvia: Baltics and Poland-focused renewable energy producer Sunly has raised close to €85 million ($99 million) in international financing to support 329 MW solar in Latvia. This financing from the European Investment Bank (EIB), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and SEB will help it build 4 solar parks with 54 MW, 90 MW, 81 MW, and 104 MW capacities by early 2027.

72.5 MW in Latvia online: In other news from Latvia, Ignitis Renewables has commissioned Stelpe Solar Farm I in Bauska municipality with 72.5 MW capacity. It will be followed by phase II, with the same capacity. This follows the commercial operations announced recently for its 94 MW Vārme solar farm and will be followed by the 174 MW Tume Solar Farm, which is currently under development.

€95 million for solar in Italy: LCF Alliance, a renewable energy independent power producer (IPP), has closed a €95 million refinancing for a portfolio of 42 operational solar PV plants in Italy. It was provided by a pool of banks led by Societe Generale and Bayerische Landesbank. Part of the proceeds will be used for ongoing revamping and repowering of the projects to optimize performance of the portfolio and increase renewable energy production.

Meyer Burger seeks extension for annual report: European solar PV manufacturer Meyer Burger Technology AG is seeking extension from the SIX Exchange Regulation for the publication of its 2024 financial results and annual report. The company was supposed to publish the report on July 31, 2025. It expects a decision on the extension request by mid-August 2025. The manufacturer says it is currently in ongoing negotiations with various parties for potential partial sales as well as for restructuring, which may have a significant impact on the report. Meanwhile, the Swiss Investor Protection Association (SASV) is preparing a lawsuit against Meyer Burger and its current and former boards, as its shareholders are threatened with a total loss.
