Stake sale in 400 MW portfolio in Spain: Spanish energy company Repsol has sold off a 49% stake in a portfolio of 8 wind and solar farms in Spain to Schroders Greencoat, the specialist renewable energy manager under Schroders Capital. The portfolio, comprising 300 MW of wind and 100 MW of solar power plants, is valued at €580 million. Repsol will continue to control the assets. It is Repsol’s 5th operation of its kind since November 2021 as part of its strategy to optimize the financial structure and project profitability by bringing in partners. This is Schroders Greencoat Europe SCSp Fund’s maiden investment. Recently, Schroders Greencoat surpassed 2 GW in operational ground-mounted solar PV capacity in the UK.
Quanta’s 58 MW Polish contract: R.Power Group subsidiary Quanta Energy has bagged a contract to build 58 MW of solar PV capacity in Poland for multinational automotive manufacturer Stellantis, which owns brands like Jeep, Chrysler, and Peugeot, among others. Quanta will develop this capacity to supply energy to 4 Stellantis production plants in Gliwice, Skoczów, and 2 in Tychy with close to 94,300 solar modules. Quanta shared that as part of the collaboration, the largest carports in Central Europe will also be built with a combined capacity of nearly 7 MW.
BNZ commissions 135 MW in Italy: Spanish independent power producer (IPP) BNZ has started the commercial operations of 135 MW solar PV capacity in Italy’s Lazio region. The 3 PV projects are located in Rinaldone, Camposcala and Mandrione. “The inauguration of our three plants in Lazio is part of our broader journey in Italy, which includes new projects under development and exploring opportunities with innovative technologies. We are targeting 520 MW of new installed capacity by 2026 through a total of nine photovoltaic plants, also located in Sicily and Apulia,” said BNZ CEO Luis Selva. It plans to invest around €600 million in Italy and create 800 jobs by the end of 2030.
